UNIVERSITY OF THIRD AGE FOR LIFELONG LEARNING

Attended the Orientation Day of University of Third Age (U3A) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) today. U3A is a program under the "Lifelong Learning for Older Malaysians" project led by Professor Dr. Tengku Aizan Hamid, Director, Institute of Gerontology, UPM. The project is jointly supported by the Government of Malaysia and the United Nations Population Fund.

If you missed the orientation, don't worry. You can still register as a U3A member and sign up for the courses for this semester which starts on 23 April 2012.

Signing up for the courses.

Membership is open to anyone aged 50 and above. Registration is only RM25 a year. Life membership is RM150. Members pay RM80 a semester for up to 3 courses of their choice. Any additional course is an extra RM30 each.

I enrolled for two semesters last year, and thoroughly enjoyed every one of the courses, among them digital photography, vocal training, bakery, swimming, traditional Chinese medicine and a lot more.

Below is a list of the courses offered this semester. The medium of instruction is mostly English as the 50plus generation were schooled in English. For more information, please visit U3A website or email seniorsaloud@gmail.com

IMPORTANT:  The course schedule above has been updated. Please visit http://u3amalaysia.wordpress.com/ for the latest schedule. Registration closes on 20 APRIL. Interested applicants must apply for U3A membership before they can sign up for courses. Forms can be downloaded at the U3A website.
