If you have never attended one of these 3-day events before, give it a go. It's FREE, so there's really nothing to lose except your precious time. For retirees with plenty of time on their hands, I would recommend registering for the SMART CONGRESS. You will definitely learn something from it.
One word of caution though. If this event is like those that I have attended before, there is a lot of hard-sell. You will be tempted to purchase some of the products that are on offer at fantastic discounts. Sure, the speakers will generously share some tips on how you can use social media to promote your business or make money through affiliate marketing. They will demonstrate how you too can be rich just by applying these tips. They will impress you with the big bucks that you can make. But remember, internet marketing is not for everyone. There is also the hard work and other factors involved. Some may succeed, many will not. Some may make thousands in a matter of days. Others will struggle for years, and still not see any significant change in their earnings from online marketing.
As one of my friends put it rather cynically, "There is no such thing as PASSIVE income. You have to work for the money." But the speakers at this and other similar seminars will beg to differ. They will try to convince you that you can generate MASSIVE income even when you are sleeping or relaxing on the beach at a holiday resort.
So by all means, attend the SMART CONGRESS. But do so with your eyes wide open.
